THE SKINNY: Jason Priestley spent 8 years of his life on BEVERLY HILLS, 90210, playing the part of Brandon Walsh. He has since graduated to directing for the CW’s spinoff. We caught up with at a press event for 90210 to talk to him about his experience behind the camera.

“Directing this show so far has been a lot of fun,” he said.” A lot of the people in the production I’ve known for a very long time and I’ve worked with on other projects. So it didn’t feel like I was going into this not knowing anything or not knowing any of the people. It’s been a very comfortable place to go to work.”

While he would wouldn’t give up any of the details about his episode, Priestley did promise that it’ll be a good one: “The episode I’m directing is a very big episode. I can’t give the plot away, but it’s a very big episode.”

And as far as bringing his character back to the show?

“I would want to do something more than just walk in and say hello,” Priestley said. “I look at roles and projects that challenge me and there’s not much challenge in that, you know what I mean? If [producers] Jeff [Judah] and Gabe [Sachs] wanted to come up with a story for my character, I would be open to that. I’ve always said that.”
